Hi MES Families,
I hope everyone is starting to find some kind of rhythm and routine now that we have a week and half of distance learning under our belts. Our household is getting there, but this week's upcoming PTO general meeting definitely snuck up on me! Please remember to join us THIS THURSDAY at 6:30pm via zoom. (Zoom Link coming soon). I'll be sending out a reminder on Thursday with the zoom information.
With another heat wave on the way and possibly an increase in smoke outside, this week could be a tough one for getting the little ones' energy out. The PTO is currently working on a new Move Your Body Campaign to help encourage kids (and parents) to move their bodies with fun physical challenges and creative active ideas. If anyone wants to volunteer for this committee (or to volunteer as a room parent or for the Fun Run event), please reach out to our volunteer coordinator, Nicollette Alvarado at mammothvc@gmail.com.
In keeping with the theme of flexibility this year, we are moving the date of the Husky Pup Fun Run Move & Groove to September 28th- October 4th. Being that this event had to be completely revamped to stay in keeping with this years unique challenges, the committee needed a little extra time to prepare. This also gives us more time to reach out to our wonderful sponsors! So if anyone is interested in becoming an event sponsor, please reach out to Lindsay Barksdale at MESFunRun@gmail.com or go to our sponsor donation page here:

Our household has been utilizing the free lesson plans available on the PTO website as a supplement to school, and they have been a huge hit. I highly recommend everyone checking them out and giving them a try. The weekly checklist found in each lesson plan gives great ideas for making math and reading fun, as well as providing a visual challenge to keep the kids motivated and engaged.

Thank you for all of your support, and I hope to see everyone on Thursday night!

PTO President
