Hi MES Families,
Happy first week of school! I can't believe I just typed that sentence. After an exceptionally long summer, finally everything we have been worrying about, wondering about and stressing about is officially...evolving into a new phase. Even though we have a lot of answers to the questions we've been asking all summer long, the answers seemed to have drummed up a whole new set of questions.
While the MES staff is available to answer any and all questions, we have also been hearing from a lot of families that they feel our school lacks a strong sense of community. Specifically, families feel like there is no place to go to connect and find support, whether it be to form a family pod, share a nanny, or get advice on how to survive this pandemic life with small children. I have started a Facebook group (not connected to the PTO) to help families do just that. If this sounds like something that you could benefit from, click here to join the MES Community Support.
Speaking of support, our school supply drive at Vons is in its final week. I want to thank everyone who has already donated. Every donation is greatly appreciated. Not only do your supply donations go directly to to our MES students. they also open up funds that would otherwise have gone to school supplies so that we can support our teachers and students even more.
If you have not had a chance to donate, please remember to run by the donation bin at the front of the store, grab a supply list and donate!

Local Support Weeks: Our local support weeks will be beginning soon! We will have all of the details at our general meeting this Thursday at 6:30pm.
Husky Pup Fun Run: The tradition will continue! Lindsay Barksdale is heading up the Fun Run committee this year and has done an amazing job reviving the event in the face of a pandemic to make it safe, responsible and fun! If you would like to volunteer for this event, please contact us at MammothPTO@gmail.com
School Supply Drive: Officially up and running! Please visit our donation bin at Vons (by the customer service desk). You can donate supplies purchased in store, online or if you have any unused supplies at home, we'll take those too!
Room Parent Program: Please email us at MammothPTO@gmail.com if you are interested in becoming a room parent for your child's classroom. We are hoping to have a room parent assigned to each and every class within the first 2 weeks of school starting.
Weekly Paper Lesson Plans: We will soon be offering pen to paper lesson plans for students TK-2nd that will include games, activities, worksheets and science projects that are appropriate for each grade level. These plans will be free to download, and we are also hoping to be able to offer a printed version, as well.
